Didactic Fiction & Related Narrative Forms

This is just a first draft. The more I was adding to it the more I seemed to be expanding the scope of what I was looking at in terms of "didactic fiction". In the process, I was reminded that there is a rich tradition to draw from and while the Socratic Dialogues have little to do with "Who Moved My Cheese?", I managed to put them in the same diagram.

Meta-question: How do you generate this diagram? Is it by hand or do you have a tool that will lay it out for you?

I'm using CmapTools. It's open source. It doesn't automatically lay it out. I decide where to put things. As a matter of fact, as I start adding elements and making connections, I often have to rearrange things and even that process is useful in making new connections. See http://cmap.ihmc.us/conceptmap.html for the tool.
